I photograph most of newborn sessions with baby wrapped up tightly, I find it makes for a smoother and quicker session. You can almost count on the moment we unwrap the baby that they will unsettle and take some time to re-settle again. This would be one of my biggest tips for new parents. babies love being snuggled!

His parents had brought a beautiful white circular blanket that had been hand knitted just for Toby and so of course I created an image with the beautiful lacy knit blanket a lovely frame around him.

With Christmas just around the corner we also included a couple of Christmasy themed photos too. While this image was done in camera, these sort of images are really easy to include into a session as the bulk of the work can be done outside of the session, the intricate setups captured at a different time and the two images stitched together in photoshop. Its called composite editing and is really useful to save time or to keep babies safety paramount if a photo is too dangerous to create in camera.

Toby looked gorgeous with the navy blue and grey tones so of course we included a set of those colours before moving on to the final images - the unwrapped sleeping ones.

Toby rocked the whole workflow like a star and before we knew it we were all done!

I snuck one last snuggle in before he was secured in his carseat for the ride home.

Book your newborn photography session here

Myer Family - North Brisbane Family Photographer

I love this lot. The parents behind me joking with the teens, the young boys scared to touch the tree because it was so rough, the older kids a little indignant but going along with it. But there they are, peeking out with smiles like its a totally normal thing to do and not at all awkward. It's a great chance for us to get to know each other, for you to feel out the studio space so you know where you are coming on the day of the newborn photos. The photoshoot is often one of the first outings for a new family and coming back somewhere familiar makes the trip that much less stressful than if it were all new.

So when the family returned with little Jimmy a few weeks later, Ruby was straight into the playroom where she remembered all the toys living!

For more informal family photos we used my fake bed set! To be honest, most of the time the pups weren't really that interested in Jimmy or the photoshoot, but they managed a quick moment or two where they did look interested and that was all we needed for the full family photo!

Jimmy's dad works on plane engines so they had brought along a wooden plane to incorporate into a photo. I'm sure it won't be long before Jimmy and his dad are cheering the team on together!

My little pink pram got a run in this session also, although for Jimmy I changed the colour to blue! Oh the cheeks on her! She was so snuggly and content.

I always start with family photos but Tallulah was very taken with all the toys, she eventually agreed to come in for a moment and their family photo is such a stunner!

The next set is usually sibling photos, but with the toy room pulling Tallulah back we moved on to some gorgeous images of Tigerlily on her own.

With her middle name being Rainbow, it was only fitting that we created a rainbow themed photo in her session as well, and doesn't she look divine all nestled into the fluffy cloud?

Tallulah came back in to see what the fuss was and I managed a few images of her by herself, but before we knew it she was off again into the playroom!

Then I had a brainwave. We could bring the playroom to her.

I got my pram prop and made it all soft for Tigerlily to lay in and photographed this image. Then we took Tigerlily out of the pram and called Tallulah into the room to show her the pram, and BOOM! Gorgeous sibling photo achieved! For baby safety I always capture this image in two steps, one with baby in the pram and no toddler in the room, then remove baby and it doesn't matter if the sibling moves the pram since baby is safely in mums arms again. I can then use Photoshop to seamlessly stitch the two photos together - wins all round!

We captured lots of lovely soft colours for this session, pastel pinks and soft yellows, and then a fun flower set with Tigerlily nestled into a bright pink flower!

The last images of a session I always capture are the "sleeping unwrapped" photos, because more often than not babies wake up when we unwrap them and may not re-settle. This was not a problem for Tigerlily, she dropped back to sleep quite soundly just long enough for us to photograph the first two poses, "bottoms up" and "facing forward".

My sessions are always baby led and it turned out that this was as much as Tigerlily wanted to do on the day, she quickly woke up so we rolled her safely on her back and captured a gorgeous open-eye photo!

Family photo shoots are so much fun.

Book in for your family photo experience today.

Bryce's First Birthday - North Brisbane Family Photographer

This was our third session for Bryce, and after watching her grow from a tiny newborn to a sitting baby and now a giggly wriggly near-toddler, it has been an absolute pleasure to photograph her and her family the past year. It is really important to remember that a lot of these kinds of images are created with photoshop to keep babies and children safe.

There are so many things that might seem like a cute idea for a photo but can put your precious baby in harms way such as wrapping them in fairy lights, taping the kids to a wall, hanging a baby in a stocking or putting your baby in a glass bowl full of baubles. These images are not safe, please do not do this.

more tips on taking safe photos here

But because I know how fun it is to take your own photos of your kids in Christmas theme, here are a couple of simple ways to take a safe and special photo of your kids this year.

1 - WRAPPING PAPER BACKDROP

It looks almost like a studio photo, but here is the secret, its just wrapping paper!

TIPS:

- Choose a matt paper. Shiny, reflective paper doesnt photograph well

- You may need 2 strips of paper on the wall to make a big enough backdrop

- Try to have your main light source (i.e. large window) behind you or to the side of you

- Turn your flash off

- Sit your child around a metre in front of the backdrop so it will be a bit blurry

- If you have a DLSR set your f stop to about 3.2 to get a nice blurry background

- Get down low, on your tummy even, to take the photo at their level

- For babies, you can give them a Christmas teddy to hold or for toddlers a seat will help keep them in place for a few seconds while you take the photo

2 - CANDY CANE LOVE HEART

This one is pretty obvious, there's not much more I can say on how to capture it. It took a few tries to get the heart shape just right but we got there in the end! The girls still talk about this photo and make candy cane love hearts together!

3 - SANTA HANDING OUT PRESENTS

To add Santa into your photos without much hassle you can create a fake arm with a cheap stocking, cut the toes open, slip a white glove on (in my case I use a white exfoliating glove!) insert the arm and boom, Santa hand!

Heres a video of how it works:

4 - ADD A SIMPLE PROP

You can easily create a Christmas themed photo with a small prop such as a miniature tree, an oversized present or reindeer ears!

5 - READING A MAGICAL BOOK / OPENING MAGIC PRESENT

This is a little trickier, but a fun one to try if you're inclined! The light coming from the book or the box is just a phone, but with the house lights off and the sparkles from the tree behind, it all comes together magically! Make sure you are not using a flash or it will ruin t he lighting technique. I used the following settings to capture the image and then processed it in camera RAW and photoshop to get the finished result.

I hope you enjoy having fun creating some magical Christmas photos with your own family this year, stay safe and Merry Christmas!

Contact Natarsha here

Baby Madelyn - Newborn Photographer North Brisbane

Little Madelyn was such a little sweetheart to have in the studio. I had been waiting to meet her since I photographed her parents at the maternity session a few weeks earlier.

One of the first things that Bronagh mentioned when booking was that there was quite a height difference between them, and I was like "Oh sure, no problem!" and she said "No, really he's very tall and I am quite short." Well, she was right, and while it made for some challenges posing them together so we did a lot of sitting down photos, but this one on the stairs was so cute I just had to share it too!

Madelyn came to the studio with quite the entourage, her parents, grandparents, Nanny who is visiting from Ireland and her Aunty! I think we can safely say she is one lucky little girl with so much love already flowing around her. They say it takes a village and Madelyn certainly has one!

We quickly got into photographing everyone with her, a group photo before smaller groups and singles. Everyone had a snuggle and a little chat to her, whispering sweet secrets and chatting and giggling at the sweet little sounds she was making.

Soon enough the family photos were finished and it was time for Madelyn to take the main stage.

Since she was four weeks old but three weeks early, it was a lot like photographing a curly, sleepy newborn. She was amazing!

We snuggled a cute pink bunny in with her, a gift from a family member.

And then I photographed her dad's receiving blanket from his childhood and placed her in a circular basket in the middle. I love incorporating personal items like this, it really makes the gallery of images that much more special and iconic for families.

She had been knitted a cute pink and grey blanket so we created a cute bed setup to photograph that with, and because it was os cute I included the little bunny rabbit again.

We also created a sweet dandelion image with the fluffy white felt and a lovely floral backdrop.

Once all the wrapped images were done we moved on to the unwrapped ones. And this is the point that tall babies wake up. And Madelyn was no exception.

But with a little feed, white noise and heat she was soon asleep again and snoring her way through the last images of the day.

And that was a wrap! I had even managed to sneak a few little snuggles in my self which was no small feat given all the hands on deck to snuggle her this day!

Don't miss your window of opportunity for a newborn shoot.

Click here to contact me today

Baby Harry - Newborn Photographer Brisbane

I need to warn you before we get into this too far. I will remove this on request but as it is part of a new baby's newness, I do like to leave it most of the time. Within a matter of days the flaky skin is all gone, never to return.

Also, these two are both what we newborn photographers call "Unicorn Children". That is when children are so co-operative that they just listen and do as we ask, without too much bribery or co-ersion. Yes, these children really do exist, and Harry and Lily are living proof.

As I had just received a new backdrop, I was really hoping the family would like it so I could photograph it, and thankfully they did! So this ornate bed is actually a fake, but doesn't it look gorgeous?

Yes, I realise you probably hadn't even noticed anything beyond the two beautiful children at the centre of the frame, because they are just divine.

With all her photos clicked off, Lily was released back to the toy room and Harry took centre stage for his part in the shoot. His mum particularly liked deep colours like navy and dark green, so we styled some simple sets for him in those colours. He really does suit the dark tones, and while I don't photograph too much in the deeper end of colours I am considering getting more dark toned blankets for sets like this.

Harry has the most gorgeous cheeks and lips, a perfect newborn pout if ever you saw one. As a standard inclusion at my newborn sessions I always use my special macro lens to capture extreme closeups of all the delicious details such as eye lashes, milk spots on the nose, fingernails and pouty lips like these.

To keep Harry's session short, we photographed almost the entire shoot with him wrapped. I find that this helps to keep the babies more settled which means that we can get through the photos quicker.

We still had loads of variety in images and kept the session time to around two hours instead of three hours, which is the usual duration when including naked poses.

Before we knew it, the session was all done and the family were on their way out the door, their two gorgeous unicorn children in tow, Lily giving me a solid high five and inviting me over for a playdate sometime soon!

I can't wait Lily! #popthekettleon

Get in touch to discuss your siblings shoot today

Masefield Family - Brisbane Family Photographer

This was such a special family photography shoot for me, I hadn't seen little Evie since she looked like this at her newborn photoshoot:Now, I know some time has passed but can you believe how quickly she grew into this adorable little munchkin! We met at one of my favourite North Brisbane spots, Bunya Crossing Reserve. But that is always my plan. During a photoshoot I am constantly thinking of how it would look on your walls, or in an album layout. You can't do a lovely three piece canvas collection if you dont have the option to choose from in the gallery.

So even though the main focus was all on dad, I still took some singles of mum and Evie and Evie on her own as well.

We wandered around the parkland, the trees making for a lovely shady spot before the sun dropped behind them further and we ventured out to the boardwalk.

I love photographing along here, the way that they lines all draw your eye into the family in the centre, its just gorgeous!

Evie loved looking for the birds and the turtles, she was so interested in the wildlife!

Considering our shoot was right at the time of day that young children struggle a bit, she was amazing. We let her run and play as much as she wanted, which is just how a photoshoot should be! FUN!

This would have to be one of my favourite images in their gallery, look at that cheeky grin! It's almost like she knows her parents are being super cute behind her and got the giggles.

We played swing-a-longs on the way back to the car, Evie kicking her feet high into the air almost reaching over her own head!

As we finished our shoot near the waters edge, she found a big seed pod that she picked up and took to the water to float like a little boat. It was beautiful, watching her play with a toy she had made using her own imagination.

She loved it so much, they took it home to put in the bath, because she was adamant that she wasn't leaving the park without it!

Are you ready to book your family photo shoot? Thats what I love so much about family photoshoots, it's a time to put the screens away and just be really present with each other. Totally normal by the way, no matter the age of the kids they always get tired of being told what to do pretty quickly. Go figure right?

So. We do formal photos first and then the session descends into an hour of mucking around, climbing trees, dancing in the dust, piggy back rides, and more.

I love this spot because there are so many options for the photos. We start in the parkland and then as the sun gets lower we head out to the beach, and if the tide permits we ca run riot on the mudflats as well.

This regular change of scenery is also a great trick to keep the kids on side with new things to find and new games to play each time we move to a new spot.

By the time we were heading to the mudflats it was getting a bit cool, but thankfully not breezy. The water on the other hand was.... arctic. Ok, ok I know we live in Queensland so it was probably just "Cold" to most people, but no matter which way you cut it, getting your feet out of toasty winter shoes and walking into icy winter sea water is always a bit of a shock.

Dad had one twin under each arm as we made out way through the first little rivulets and out to the sandy flats. Once we were out there the kids were in their element, racing off in all directions!

Looking for the sand worms and splashing in the little puddles kept everyone happy, so much so that we photographed right up to sunset. 5.30pm just in case you are worried that the kids were up too late. This is one of the reasons that I love winter sessions!

Emma and Adam had a quiet moment while Jackson took the twins hands and headed them back to the car, and this would be one of my personal favourite photos from their whole shoot. Nisha was such a wonderful influence on my girls and there have been many times I can hear her words coming out through my girls voices, from sweet manners "You're welcome!" to songs "I'm a little graduate, aren't you proud of me... " and sayings "You get what you get and you don't get upset" haha.

So it felt so fitting that I was able to give something back to her family after so many years of her wonderful gifts to mine.

As we got the shoot underway, Veda was so interested in my camera, keeping her eyes on me the whole time and not entirely sure about it.

When I showed her a photo on the camera screen she had a massive smile and a little squeal seeing herself and after that she was away!

Nisha had brought her wedding sari to the session and it was gorgeous. I loved the intricate beading of gold and red, so we hung it as a backdrop and Veda in her gorgeous golden dress was super happy to sit in front of it and giggle away as we made silly sounds and sung songs for her.

Veda's favourite song was "round and round the garden" which brought out cackles and giggles from the first line! She knew the tickle was coming and was already laughing well before it got her.

She had the most beautiful fluffy curls that we pinned back with a clip or a headband, always keeping one soft curl to the front, and her eyelashes were just incredible, so long and full framing her gorgeous brown eyes.

For some variation in the session next we did some pink fluffy layers, and she must have felt happy then because her smiles were off the scale! Theres "big smiles" and then theres these ones!

Her dad got some awesome giggles from her when he tickled her with his whiskers, she really loved the sensation of that.

I quickly changed the colours and captured some lovely natural images before Veda was very much done with us.

With all the hard work taking its toll, Veda was ready for another snooze. We got her dressed to go home and she had a snack and a drink. Her going home outfit was a lovely purple dress, and since she was setting down wiht the snack I quickly threw some purple things onto a backdrop and an adorable floral bonnet onto her head and boom - may I present a cute flowery baby in a basket!

With some more cuddles and snuggles Veda was well ready for another snooze in the car on the trip home, I have no doubt that she was asleep before they got to the end of the road!

Book your baby photography session here

Martin Family - North Brisbane Family Photographer

I love a winter sunset, and when we team it up with an awesome family like this one the result was always going to be epic! That is the word I would use to describe this session - EPIC!I loved so much about this family, 6 year old Ethan the pocket rocket who was itching to climb the trees and giggle, 10 year old Hannah who was scared of the sea worms in the mudflats and 11 year old Keenan who just went along with all my crazy ideas! It is one of the awesome parts of being part of this community, a time where we can all celebrate
photographic excellence and really help build our bonds as peers.

I was entering four images into the Family category which was being judged in the morning of day three of the photography event.

3 of my images were re-entered with slight adjustments after receiving good scores at the Queensland state awards earlier this year and one, the cross stitch image, had been heavily re-worked following some major feedback I received at the state awards.

I had been desperate to head to Melbourne to experience the awards in person, but as they fell on the same day as my daughters 6th birthday I chose to stay home with my family, as they mean the world to me and I couldn't bear to miss my little girls birthday.

So there I was, camped out on the couch at 8am Monday morning a pile of nerves waiting for the category to begin. There were two rooms of judging happening simultaneously so I had my laptop watching one room, my iPad linked to the tv watching the other room, my phone in my hand for the moral support of friends who I knew were watching live in the rooms in Melbourne.

The images are judged firstly on technical abilities such as focus, colour grading, composition, balancing light and shade, and then on creativity, originality, conceptual story-telling, and lastly, for my category in particular, family connection and emotional communication.

Five judges each review the print as it is presented then submit their score into the system, the average of the five scores is the final score for the print. The general ranges are 75-79 high professional practice, 80-84 Silver, 85-89 Silver Distinction, 90-94 Gold, 95-100 Gold Distinction.

The judging got underway and it was hard. Images that I would have expected to get awards were not. Soon enough my first image came up. This is the beautiful Hines family, celebrating ten years of marriage with a special photoshoot carrying out daily chores in their wedding attire. Their full blog post is linked below and its gorgeous, you should check it out next. This image shows how despite the daily grind of work and chores and mortgages they are still just as in love as they were as newly weds. I particularly love the kids cute drawings on the wall on the right.

The scores came in, it had received 77, high professional practice but no award.

Next up was my cross stitch image. This is a piece I am very proud of. This is the McErlean family (well you would know that soon enough) and the mother in this family had mentioned how she had just finished her first cross stitch since having kids and joked that she was so proud of it that she wanted to put it on the wall. And my mind went DING! Lets do a family cross stitch for the wall! The first incarnation of this image was entered into the QLD state awards where it received a silver award but the judges mentioned how they felt they were just reading "Home Sweet Home" every time they looked at it. So I re-did the image with the family made out of cross stitches.

I held my breath. The judging had been so hard. It might not...

89!!! It had scored an 89 in the first flush of judgment! I was being discussed as going into the gold range when my ink blot image came up in the next room.

Ink Blot.

This is a somewhat controversial image for a number of reasons now. It received a gold award at our QLD state awards earlier this year and as a result I felt it would be foolish not to enter this into APPA. In case you are having trouble seeing this image, look at the opposite. This is the lovely Janfada-Witt family, but the first thing most people see is the bat, or a bird. But when you flip your minds eye you will see the family in there, a mum, dad and baby Kaia with her little toes curled up into the frame.

This time around, the image was not well received by the judges at all. Some couldnt see the family members, some felt it wasn't original or creative. One judge scored it 63. My initial thought was that they had hit the wrong button and meant to put an 8 not a 6.

There was a moment of confusion in the room. Murmers and rumblings that something had gone wrong. Oh! Thank goodness, they will fix the score up.

But no. It was intentional. It was an automatic challenge in the negative which almost never happens.

So while in one judging room my cross stitch image settled at 91 points and was receiving a Gold award and the highest score in the category, in the next room I was simultaneously receiving (around)
the lowest score in the category for my inkblot image that had got Gold at state level.

It was crazy. Intense. Bizarre. I had no idea what was even happening as I was trying to hear two different conversations about my work, one highly positive and one highly negative.

The discussion ended. The final score was 75 and the judges chair had a moment of reprimand where they reminded the judges that each image should be judged on its own merit and not be compared to other works.

So despite the enormous success of my cross stitch image, with two of my entries not getting awarded and with a score as low as 75, I was likely out of contention for family category finalist.

I had one image left in the bag but now it was morning tea time. The judges took a one hour break.

I had time on my hands and nerves in my belly and outrage and tears of anger and elation. My heart had been thumping through my chest, my legs were jelly and my hands were tingly and semi-numb. I felt like I would throw up.

So I poured a coffee and ran some numbers. My final image would need to be a silver award to even be contender for category finalist, but even then it would rely on other people getting scores worse than mine.

Eventually we were back in action and my final image of the day came up. The Mandala. An image of the O'Brien family that I personally love. A mandala is a symbol of eternity, as is a family. The recurring pattern and concentric circles representing the blood line that has lived for centuries and will into the future. The centre of the parents shows love hearts and spinning the circle on its axis brought the kissing parents into the shape of an X, like a big kiss. Its graphical and bright, dripping in symbolism and I love it.

Thankfully the judges did too. It was well received with a silver award of 81. It was enough to just scrape into contention for Family Photographer of the Year, but I found out the next night that at least four other portfolios had outshone mine this year.

When all the dust had settled, I had 4 big successes:

I received a Silver award, a Gold award, the highest scoring print in the category and my Associate level of professional photography in the AIPP.

I would like to thank the wonderful families that were featured in my images, without your support of my "crazy creative idea - just go with me on this" mentality I wouldn't be able to produce artworks such as these.

To my wonderful friend Selena for her guidance pre-APPA, for listening to me freak out in that hour long break, and icing my bruised ego when things didnt go as hoped. She is also the one who encouraged me to start my award journey only last year, so thank you for bringing this chaos into my life! I think.

To my husband Travis, thank you for always standing by with ice cream and hugs through the good times and the bad, for giving your opinion on my artworks (requested or not) and just being a bloody good guy who I love with all my heart. And of course to my girls who spent the afternoon playing charades and laughing with me in the post-adrenaline hangover of the whole experience.

My family really, truly is the place I draw my strength from and re-charge. Reset. Rejuvenate. They mean so much to me, which is why I love photographing other families too.

So that is my awards wrap for this year, see you in 2019 state awards with some more crazy concepts!

Baby Evie - North Brisbane Baby Photographer

I love a sitter session, and I especially love a sitter session when I get to see one of the newborns come back to the studio! We all gushed at how sweet he looked in this photo, his Nan particularly taken with the cute little man.

For something different, we decided on an earthy brown image next. We discussed a few of the props and textures I had in studio, until Aiden's mum Grace requested some leaves and I said "Oh yes! When babies are asleep.

When they are awake, its a bit of a dud.

Aiden... was awake.

So we spent quite some time settling him back into a soft soothed sleep, white noise, heat, patting, stroking. and snuggling all coming in to play at this point. He managed to stay sleeping throughout every single pose, which meant we captured all the beautiful relaxed photos that his parents had hoped for.

With the photo session wrapped up Aiden snuggled into his car seat again ready for the ride home. Chilled out, sleepy and snoozy. The only time we heard a peep from him was when he was unwrapped, or when he was snoring!

We started with the family photos and they were giggling because the way I pose families feels so unnatural, so awkward and odd, but it looks awesome in the camera! So quickly that I didnt even get a chance to photograph her!

But not to worry, I have plenty more tricks up my photographer sleeve.

We sent Isla off for a play in the next room and moved on to the single portrait photos of Samuel. He was in such a snoozy state by now that I don't think he even knew he had moved. I have a sneaky trick where I wrap babies up twice, firstly in a constricting flesh coloured wrap, then in a pretty textured wrap. This way I can change the outer wrap without bothering the baby, and it works so well to keep the session flowing!

We called Isla back into the room to give her baby brother some kisses and she was more than happy to oblige. Yes really.

The triplets are all girls - Sienna, Olivia and Amelia, with two identical and one fraternal. How incredible is that?!

To keep the day running as smoothly as possible I had discussed colours and ideas with Alana, the girls mum so that I could have some set-ups created and ready to go when they were here. She like pinks and purples, so naturally the first one I made was blue.

It was a beautiful soft pastel blue and mint tone that looked lovely and fresh and soft for the girls. Its is also a little unexpected colour set which I like too.

Of course once they saw the set both parents agreed that it was lovely and dad Scott was stoked to get a set that wasn't pink since their house has become overrun with hues of pink lately.

As I wrapped the girls one by one, they settled into their snuggly wraps peacefully, little "dolphin" sounds coming every now and then which their parents said was a sign they are happy.

Next we did family photos, which I feel so strongly about. Your babies only fit into your arms for such a short time and they really do grow so quickly, it is just so important to be photographed with them as much as you can while they are still so little.

If you have ever held a baby in your arms you will know how full your arms are and how it can get heavy after a while. So for Alana's sake we did her photos in the chair with the babies all snuggled in on her lap, then Scott came in for a photo with everyone too. Next, Scott steeled himself to hold all three at once while standing and did a stellar job of it!

One thing I make a point of capturing at multiples sessions is single photos of each baby as well. Twins and triplets, while being gorgeous together, are still individuals and I feel it is important to honour that with single photos of each one as well as group photos.

With the girls sleeping soundly we captured another set of pink, grey and white, each of the girls getting a single set of photos as well as a few versions of group photos.

We were ramping up for the grand finale - an ultra-flowery photo of the girls each in their own basket, photographed separately and stitched together in photoshop. This image took a total of 9 seperate captures to create, plus overlays and cleanup layers.

It was getting towards feeding time and since un-wrapped babies tend to be more alert and squiggly, we took this chance to feed the girls. As I unwrapped each one gently, they would spring awake and start asking for milk, it was almost funny by the time we were through them all!

The girls were each so stunning on the curly wool layer that I photographed some closeups as well - and you wouldn't believe it but they all gave me a little smile on the closeups!

It really was the most enjoyable day in the studio, we all has such a peaceful and fun morning capturing life long memories of these beautiufl little girls and their first few weeks.

Click here to book your session now

Baby William - North Brisbane Newborn Photographer

As you likely know by now, I love getting to know the families I photograph and working with them to design creative imagery that is personal to them.Well, this particular family I could just about gush over all day long.Everything they tell me, I think "Ooh I can see a photo in that!"When Tash first contacted me about a newborn session she had no plans for a maternity shoot as well, but she took up my offer of a promotion I had running that included a free maternity session, and it was possibly

As you likely know by now, I love getting to know the families I photograph and working with them to design creative imagery that is personal to them.

Well, this particular family I could just about gush over all day long.

Everything they tell me, I think "Ooh I can see a photo in that!"

When Tash first contacted me about a newborn session she had no plans for a maternity shoot as well, but she took up my offer of a promotion I had running that included a free maternity session, and it was possibly the best decision she could have made. He was so chilled out in fact that we captured sooo many cute photos, it was really hard to trim it down to a manageable newborn gallery of 55.

We started with the family photos, as I expected, they are stunning.

Then a photo with a Bronco's teddy that was a gift from his Aunty.

Then Chris' tap dancing photo.

Then the firefighting photo.

t was about this point that we all fell into a fit of giggles as Tash presented one animal outfit after the other, by the time we were photographing the fourth one we were all laughing pretty hard at how indignant William will likely be looking back on these photos as an adult.
