This is a simple guide to help you feel ready, relaxed, and excited for your newborn photoshoot with me, Tarsh.
Every family is different, so don’t worry, this is just here to make things easier.
Sessions run up to 3 hours (most finish in 2).
All family members are included in newborn photoshoots. Grandparents welcome too.
Session Overview

Nappy bag packed (add a singlet if it’s cold)

Pacifiers or bottles if using them

Baby dressed in a front-opening jumpsuit (no singlet)

Talk to me about your favourite products

Snacks for siblings

Any sentimental items for the session

Clean fingernails, no stamps or band-aids

Earrings and hair pieces in place

Feed baby before leaving home

Arrive photo-ready and in your outfit
PHOTO DAY CHECKLIST

Cover shoulders if you have concerns about your arms.

Watches and toddler shoes are usually removed.

Baby is wrapped in tones to match your clothing.

Your bottom half won’t show much photos, but wear something tidy just in case.

Avoid stripes or big logos

Bring spare clothes ... just in case

Block colours are preferable to patterns
WHAT TO WEAR
FAMILY IMAGE STYLING
There are 4 main styles to choose from with family photos.
The newer look is the seated, more casual style in neutral tones. This style is relaxed and comfy compared to the more formal standing images on the plain backgrounds.
The plain backgrounds are available in neutral beige or soft grey and have been a studio staple for years.
Bright white background images are captured at all sessions.

Studio Temperature
While most of the session is photographed at around 23°C, the studio is heated to around 29°C for images when baby is not wrapped.
For your comfort, dress in cool, breathable clothes.

Awake Babies
Sometimes newborns stay awake. That’s okay! This just means more personality in their photos and we’ll still capture something beautiful.
Your Custom Portraits
Want to include heirlooms, special colour schemes or create something story-driven? Let’s plan it together in advance so I can prep accordingly.
Siblings
I love capturing sibling shots and prioritise them in your session. Once they’re done, they can head out for a break or hang in the toy room with Dad.
Tip:
If your toddler’s a bit shy, show them my photo or a video of me before photo day so I’m not a stranger.

A sneak peek (watermarked) is shared online or emailed directly to families who wish to keep their images private.

You return to the studio to view, choose, and finalise your order.

Images and digitals are delivered via online gallery.
Around 2-3 Weeks Later
Your printed products will ship directly to your home ready to be proudly displayed and loved.
