The key is to keep things simple and coordinated, not matching. Neutral tones, soft textures, and avoiding large logos or busy patterns work best. I’ll guide you before your session so you feel confident and everything comes together beautifully.
How long does a family photoshoot take?
Family sessions are relaxed and typically run for around 40 to 60 minutes. That gives us time for natural moments, a few outfit tweaks if needed, and keeps things fun without the kids hitting meltdown mode.
What if my kids don’t behave during the photoshoot?
Completely normal. In fact, almost expected! But it's all good because I don’t need perfect behaviour, I just need connection. I work around your kids, not against them, and I often find some of the best photos come from those real, in-between moments.
Where do family photoshoots take place?
Sessions take place at my private home studio in Bunya, Brisbane, with both indoor and outdoor options. You get beautiful variety without dragging the kids from location to location.
When is the best time to book a family photoshoot?
Before you feel ready. Most families wait too long and wish they hadn’t. Booking a few months ahead is ideal, especially if you want images ready for a special occasion or gift.

EXTENDED FAMILY PHOTOSHOOTS
Getting everyone together for extended family photography in Brisbane is no small feat. Grandparents, cousins, siblings, various life stages and at least one person who "doesn't really like photos" (there's always one). Good news: I've been wrangling big groups for 15 years and I have a system.
Sessions move at the pace your family actually needs. We start loose, let the kids find their feet, and work through a mix of big group portraits, generational shots and the smaller moments between people who genuinely love each other.
The studio gardens have purpose-built spots for families of all sizes, three to thirty. Shaded areas for the Brisbane summer, open lawns for the kids to run, and seating for grandparents who need a moment (we've got you).
Weekend sessions book around 6 weeks ahead. If you're planning around a birthday, Christmas visit or reunion, get in early.
OUTDOOR FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY
The studio sits on two private acres in Bunya, about 20 minutes northwest of Brisbane's CBD.
It's not a public space. No strangers walking through the back of your shots, no rushing out before it fills up. Just your family, the garden, and a full session to actually be in it together.
I've built the space around family photography over the years. Stone steps that children are inexplicably obsessed with, shaded nooks for the warmer months, open lawns for running, and a fully equipped indoor studio for when Queensland's weather gets creative.
All family photography Brisbane sessions are held here at the studio and yes, there are chickens. The girls are highly likely to gatecrash your shoot, and it's often the highlight of the day.

First birthdays are a big deal. Not just for the babies (who genuinely have no idea what's happening), but for the parents who have kept an actual human alive for a whole entire year and deserve something beautiful to mark it.
First birthday and milestone sessions at the studio are relaxed, playful and completely led by your one-year-old's mood on the day. Curious explorers, confident cruisers, little people who've decided today is a sitting-down kind of day. I work with whatever I'm given and I'll be watching for the real moments the whole time.
